UNCOM Named Gener8tor Milwaukee 2018 Spotlight Nonprofit
(Milwaukee, Wisconsin -- November 13, 2018) -- The United Neighborhood Centers of Milwaukee (UNCOM) announced today that it will be the spotlight “Non-Profit at Gener8tor’s annual Premier Night on November 14 at the Milwaukee Art Museum. Premiere Night is an invitation-only celebration of Gener8tor's latest class of innovative startups and entrepreneurship. UNCOM and each of Gener8tor Milwaukee 2018 companies will present in front of a captive audience of more than 500 investors, entrepreneurs, and community members. UNCOM will also receive a monetary contribution from the event.

Receiving this recognition and being given the opportunity to share our story with Milwaukee’s business community, positions UNCOM to attract strategic partners who share our commitment to creating a better quality of life for Milwaukee’s urban families. Gener8tor is a nationally ranked accelerator that invests in high-growth startups. Three times a year we invest $90K in each of five startups who receive a concierge experience during our 12-week accelerator program. gener8tor supports the growth of these startups through our network of experienced mentors, technologists, corporate partners, angel investors and venture capitalists.
UNCOM Named “Nonprofit of the Year” by The Salvation Army

(Milwaukee, Wisconsin -- October 19, 2018) -- The United Neighborhood Centers of Milwaukee (UNCOM) announced today that it has been named “Non-Profit of the Year” by The Salvation Army for its work in combatting poverty and adversity among Milwaukee’s urban families. Hailed as the one non-profit world’s highest honors, UNCOM will receive the award on October 22 at the “2018 OTHERS Luncheon” at the Wisconsin Club. Other 2018 honorees include the Greater Milwaukee Foundation and Northwestern Mutual.
“We are so pleased that The Salvation Army is acknowledging UNCOM’s work on behalf of Milwaukee’s urban families with this prestigious award,” said Michelle Hinton, UNCOM’s Executive Director and CEO. “We are all so happy to have our efforts recognized in such a public way, by such a highly respected organization, like The Salvation Army. This is the first award of this kind UNCOM has received for the work we are doing for this community, and we are thrilled beyond measure.”
