Dating violence is using physical, sexual, verbal and emotional abuse to control someone you're going with or dating. Dating violence can happen to anyone.
Examples of dating abuse include:
Verbal / Emotional
• ignoring feelings
• isolating one’s partner from his/her friends
• calling a date names, insulting date
• threats
• insulting family and friends
• threatening to hurt oneself
Sexual
• forcing date to have sex or do anything sexual that he/she does not want to do
• threatens to find someone who will do what he/she wants sexually
Remember it's sexual assault when someone makes you do something sexual that you don't want to do; or when someone has sexual contact with you and you weren't able to give consent - like if you've had too much to drink.
Physical
• hitting, pushing, choking
• intimidation (standing in front of doors) • using a weapon

That's not cool.
Your cell phone, IM, and social networks are all a digital extension of who you are. When someone you're with pressures you or disrespects you in those places, that's not cool.
